Trip/Slip Accidents

You may be entitled to compensation if you have been injured through a fall which was caused by the negligence of another party.

Defective pavements and slippery floors in shops and supermarkets often give rise to claims. Compensation can be sought for any injuries sustained together with earnings lost as a result of the accident.

Ankle Injury

Although it is a very strong joint the ankle is particularly susceptible to sporting injuries such as happen in football and snowboarding and to those that happen in slipping and tripping accidents. Sprains are very common. These are injuries to the ligaments and soft tissues around the ankle. Sometimes an x-ray is essential to determine whether there is a fracture or just severe bruising.

Back Injury

This is a common form of injury arising from all types of accident. It is a very common reason for people taking time off work. It has been suggested that patients sometimes take longer to recover than they should because they use the wrong muscles to compensate for the injury. This in turn can lead to more pressure being exerted on the spine than should be the case.

Knee Injury

Like the ankle a very strong joint that has to do a lot of work while supporting virtually all the weight of the body. Although the knee is generally susceptible to sporting injuries its two ligaments are the parts most vulnerable to injury in car and motor cycle accidents.

Spinal Injury

The most serious spinal injuries can result in quadriplegia (loss of function of all four limbs) or paraplegia (loss of function of two limbs). Injuries may be complete, with no function below the level of the injury, or incomplete leaving some degree of functioning.
